Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Develop cost estimates for design/build and plan & spec jobs through analyzing blueprints and customer specifications under general supervision. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

To perform this position successfully, employee must perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.  These functions are representative, but not all-inclusive, of what is necessary to succeed in this position. 

  • Prepare estimates under general supervision.
  • Review and understand plans and specifications.
  • Provide support for the development of bidding strategies by obtaining specifications
  • Identify project bid requirements, scope of work, non-standard work conditions.
  • Prepare material take offs to develop estimated labor and material costs
  • Identify information that needs to be disseminated to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings.
  • MAY REQUIRE EXTENDED HOURS DURING BIDDING DEADLINES

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep current and up-to-date with computer software updates 
  • Participate in company training programs and attend authorized external conferences or seminars as required to keep current in company and industry standards and operating procedures.
  • Perform any special assignments, additional projects, or other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position as required by the executive team.

Required Experience:

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         2–4-year college degree in relevant field such as Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Design, and/or equivalent work experience

·         Working knowledge of computers, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet resources
