Job Description:

Kline Electric - Cedar Rapids, IA

Kline Electric is looking for an experienced electrical estimator to bid commercial and other projects in eastern Iowa.

Who is Kline Electric? We are a 100% employee-owned electrical contractor company headquartered in Des Moines, IA with additional locations in Cedar Rapids, IA, Waterloo, IA, and Omaha, NE. There are nearly 300 employee-owners between these locations specializing in commercial, residential, multi-family, service, solar, underground, traffic infrastructure, directional drilling, and low voltage services. In this position, we are looking for someone with strong attention to detail who takes pride in their work and submitting bids on a timely basis. The electrical estimator must have strong computer skills and must have experience using electrical estimating software.

This position will work out of the Cedar Rapids office and will report to the Cedar Rapids Branch Manager.

Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for electrical construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, general contractors and others as required to to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Analyze project requirements and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs
- Utilize construction estimating software to create detailed take-offs and cost estimates
- Research and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing for materials and equipment
- Present estimates to management and clients in a clear and professional manner

Qualifications:
- Field experience as a commercial electrician strongly preferred
- Proven experience as an Estimator of electrical projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes (NEC), local regulations, and construction practices
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking abilities
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and clients
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
